Reception
Critical reception
Mihir Bhanage of The Times of India gave 3.0/5 rating, praised performances, comic timing of each actor and criticised predictable storyline.[6] Kalpeshraj Kubal of Maharashtra Times also gave same rating praised music wrote: "While expanding the story of the second part of the story as the writer, Manjrekar has kept the journey of the story interesting. But, the innocence and sentimentality that was in the writing of the first movie; It is not felt in this time."[7] Chitrali Chogle Anawkar reviewed for Lokmat, awarded 3 stars out of 5 and wrote: The acting side of the movie is solid and the story seems to need a bit of innovation, because again the same part then again the same jerking train, that too in London. Moreover, it seems that some events have been dragged and stretched. Even so, it is equally true that the drama that happens in the cinema overrides all thoughts and we are thoroughly entertained.[8]
Pune Times Mirror wrote: Siddhartha Jadhav as Dhanaji to Shivaji Satam as Suyrabhan and the other supporting cast have done an excellent job. However, Cringeworthy humourless jokes, non-realistic extreme cultural hatred and love by foreigners, lack of a basic narrative and utterly irrational situations, contribute to the film's decimation within the first half hour. Even with a star-studded cast, veteran actors, a bigbudget production and a director known for helming critically acclaimed films, ‘De Dhakka 2’ couldn't help but disappoint the audience.[9]
Box office
The film collected ₹10.86 crore gross at the Box office in India and become the tenth highest grossing Marathi film of 2022.[10]
