Azghan (Persian: اذغان, also Romanized as Āzghān and Āz̄ghān; also known as Ārghān, Askol, and Azgan)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Azghan Rural District of the Central District of Ahar County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 1,132 in 290 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,061 people in 296 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,011 people in 346 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
