Arad District (Persian: بخش ارد) is in Gerash County, Fars province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Arad.[3]
In February 2008, Gerash District was separated from Larestan County in the establishment of Gerash County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Gerash as its capital and only city at the time.[3]
The National Census in 2011 counted 7,136 people in 1,988 households.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 7,029 inhabitants in 2,019 households.[2]
After the census, the village of Arad was elevated to the status of a city.[5]
