Anthony Miranda is an American police officer and New York City Sheriff appointed in 2022 by Mayor Eric Adams.[1][2] Miranda previously served as a sergeant and detective in the New York City Police Department. After retiring from the Police Department, he co-founded and served as the executive chairman of the National Latino Officers Association. Miranda has been affiliated with several scandals, including campaign finance irregularities, scams during COVID, and affiliations with disgraced Senator Hiram Monserrate who was removed from the State Legislature.
