Anna-Mieke Bishop (born 13 March 1990),[1] known as Anna Mieke, is an Irish folk singer-songwriter from County Wicklow.[2][3][4]
Early life
Anna Mieke was born in Wicklow and has lived in New Zealand, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Switzerland and Spain.[5] She later studied biochemistry at University College Cork and worked in a lab.[6][7]
Career
Anna Mieke was one of five RTÉ Folk Award Nominees for ‘Best Emerging Act’ 2019, and was a recipient of the Arts Council’s Next Generation Bursary Award 2020.[8] In 2020, her song "Warped Window" appeared on the show Normal People.[9] Her second album Theatre was nominated for the RTÉ Choice Music Prize.[7]
