Cole Custer, the defending Xfinity Series champion.

The 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series will be the 43rd season of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, a stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR in the United States. The season will start on February 17 with the United Rentals 300 at Daytona International Speedway and will end with the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race on November 9 at Phoenix Raceway.[1][2]

Cole Custer of Stewart–Haas Racing enters the season as the defending 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion.[3]

9 Brandon Jones Phillip Bell Jones signed a two-year deal with JRM in 2023 and will return to the No. 9 in 2024.[17][18] Phillip Bell, the former engineer of the No. 9 car in 2022 when it was driven by Noah Gragson, returns to JRM after 1 year with Gragson at Legacy Motor Club in the Cup Series to serve as crew chief of the No. 9 in 2024.[13]
Kaulig Racing[N 1] 11 Josh Williams Kevin Walter Williams will move from the No. 92 DGM Racing car to Kaulig to drive the No. 11 full-time in 2024.[20] Kevin Walter, the former engineer of the JRM No. 8 car, moves to Kaulig to serve as crew chief of the No. 11 car, replacing Jason Trinchere.[21]
16 A. J. Allmendinger Alex Yontz Although Chandler Smith signed a three-year deal with Kaulig in 2022, Joe Gibbs Racing bought out his contract and he will drive for JGR in 2024.[22] Kaulig confirmed that Smith would not return to the team in 2024.[23] A. J. Allmendinger has been announced as the full-time driver of the No. 16.[24] Yontz will continue serving as crew chief for Kaulig in 2024, moving from the No. 10 to the No. 16.[21]
97 Shane van Gisbergen (R) Bruce Schlicker Trackhouse Racing and Kaulig have announced that van Gisbergen will drive for Kaulig full-time in the Xfinity series in 2024.[19] Schlicker will continue serving as crew chief for Kaulig in 2024, moving from the No. 16 to the No. 97.[21]
Mike Harmon Racing 74 TBA TBA The team renamed from CHK Racing back to their former name, Mike Harmon Racing, and will field the No. 74 car full-time.[25]
Our Motorsports 5 Anthony Alfredo TBA Alfredo will drive full-time the Our Motorsports No. 5 Chevrolet. Alfredo previously competed for the team in 2022.[26]
Richard Childress Racing 2 Jesse Love (R) Danny Stockman Jr. Sheldon Creed will not return to RCR in 2024.[27] Jesse Love, the 2023 ARCA Menards Series champion, will replace Creed in the No. 2 car, with Whelen continuing as primary sponsor.[28] Danny Stockman Jr, who previously crew chiefed for RCR, winning Xfinity and Truck Series championships with Austin Dillon, returns to the team after crew chiefing for Kyle Busch Motorsports and Rev Racing and will be the new crew chief of the No. 2 car, replacing Jeff Stankiewicz.[29]
21 Austin Hill TBA Hill signed a contract extension with RCR and will remain in the Xfinity Series for the team in 2024.[30]
Young's Motorsports 42 Leland Honeyman (R) Andrew Abbott On January 3, 2024, it was announced that Honeyman would drive the No. 42 for Young's Motorsports in the Xfinity Series in 2024.[31] Andrew Abbott will serve as crew chief, moving over from the Truck Series team.[31]
Ford AM Racing 15 Hailie Deegan (R) Joe Williams Jr. On September 23, 2023, AM Racing announced that they would expand to two full-time cars in 2024. On October 5, 2023, the team announced they had signed Hailie Deegan to a multi-year deal.[32] Joe Williams Jr. will continue serving as crew chief at AM Racing in 2024, moving from the No. 25 to the No. 15.[33]
RSS Racing 28 Kyle Sieg TBA Kyle Sieg will return to racing full-time in 2024.[34]
29 Blaine Perkins TBA Perkins will drive the No. 29 for RSS full-time in 2024.[35]
39 Ryan Sieg TBA Ryan Sieg will return to the No. 39 car. SciAps will return as a sponsor, increasing sponsorship to cover the full season.[36]

Toyota Joe Gibbs Racing 18 Sheldon Creed Sam McAulay Creed, who parted ways with Richard Childress Racing at the end of the 2023 season, will drive full-time for JGR in the Xfinity Series in 2024.[22] Crew chief Jeff Meendering moves to JGR's new No. 81 car driven by Chandler Smith. Sam McAulay, who was previously the engineer for Denny Hamlin's No. 11 JGR car in the Cup Series and also served as interim crew chief for him in 2020 and 2022, will be the new crew chief of the No. 18 car.[39]

81 Chandler Smith Jeff Meendering On December 13, 2023, it was announced that JGR would expand to four full-time Xfinity Series cars in 2024 with the addition of the No. 81 car driven by Chandler Smith, who moves back to the Toyota driver development system after driving the No. 16 car for Kaulig Racing for 1 year. Meendering, who crew chiefed the No. 18 car driven by Sammy Smith in 2023, moves to the No. 81 car to crew chief Smith.[39]
Sam Hunt Racing 26 TBA TBA TBA On January 10, 2024, it was announced that Heim would drive a partial schedule for SHR, beginning at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March. The rest of his schedule is yet to be determined, as well as which other drivers will pilot the entry as well as the crew chief.[40] Earnhardt, who ran part-time for the team in 2022, will return to drive the No. 26 in multiple races starting at Atlanta.[41]

DGM Racing 92 Josh Bilicki 1 Bilicki will run a partial schedule in the No. 92 for DGM in 2024, with his first start being at the season opening race at Daytona International Speedway. It is currently not known if the No. 92 will be a full-time entry for 2024.[45]
Kaulig Racing 10 Daniel Dye 10 Dye will run a partial schedule for Kaulig in 2024, driving the No. 10, starting at Daytona. It is currently not known if the No. 10 will be a full-time entry for 2024.[46]
Mike Harmon Racing 47 TBA TBA The team renamed from CHK Racing back to their former name, Mike Harmon Racing, and will field the No. 47 car part-time according to a statement on their Facebook page.[47]

Ford AM Racing 25 TBA TBA AM Racing originally planned to field two full-time teams, including the No. 15 and the No. 25, but the team elected to not field the entry until later in the season; the owners points from last year were moved to the No. 15.[52]
RSS Racing 38 C. J. McLaughlin[53] TBA RSS Racing will field a part-time fourth car again in 2024. The driver(s) and the races it will run have yet to be announced. With the No. 29, previously their part-time car, becoming a full-time car, the No. 38 will become the part-time car.[54]
TBA Emerling-Gase Motorsports TBA Patrick Emerling TBA Emerling will run part-time in the Xfinity Series again in 2024 in addition to running full-time in the Whelen Modified Tour.[55]

Crew chiefs

  • On October 27, 2023, Jason Ratcliff announced in an interview on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio that he would be retiring as a crew chief after the 2023 season. He crew chiefed the No. 19 car for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2023. He spent the majority of his 24-year career in NASCAR with JGR crew chiefing in the Cup and Xfinity Series and became the winningest crew chief in Xfinity Series history. He also crew chiefed for Brewco Motorsports in the Xfinity Series early in his career.[58] On December 13, Seth Chavka, the former engineer of JGR's No. 54 car in the Cup Series driven by Ty Gibbs who also served as an engineer and interim crew chief for JGR in the Cup Series for Kyle Busch when he drove the No. 18 car and Erik Jones when he drove the No. 20 car, was announced as Ratcliff's replacement as crew chief of the No. 19 Xfinity Series car.[39]
  • On November 13, 2023, it was announced that Ben Beshore, who crew chiefed Joe Gibbs Racing's No. 20 car driven by John Hunter Nemechek in 2023, would be moving up to the Cup Series with Nemechek on the Legacy Motor Club No. 42 car.[59] On December 13, Tyler Allen, the former engineer of JGR's No. 20 car in the Cup Series driven by Christopher Bell, was announced as Beshore's replacement as crew chief of the No. 20 car.[39]
  • On November 28, 2023, JR Motorsports revealed that Jason Burdett would not return to the team as a crew chief in 2024. Burdett crew chiefed for JRM for nine years, his first eight were on the No. 7 car with Regan Smith in 2015 and Justin Allgaier from 2016 to 2022 and his last year was on the No. 9 car with Brandon Jones.[60] On December 18, Phillip Bell, the former engineer of the No. 9 car in 2022 when it was driven by Noah Gragson, was announced as Burdett's replacement as crew chief of the No. 9 car, returning to JRM after 1 year as Gragson's engineer in the Cup Series for Legacy Motor Club.[13]
