Introduction
If your Contixo V8 (model number V8X) is failing to hold a charge and it definitely isn't an issue with the charger, you can troubleshoot it here; you may need to replace the battery to fix it. This guide will tell you how to do this. You will need two blue iFixit opening tools and a fine-tipped soldering iron (see this guide for information on soldering and desoldering connections); you may also want to use a plastic spudger, but this is optional (the blue opening tools would work too).
Please consider using an anti-static wrist strap to protect against electrical charges while working with the battery (see this guide for information on how to use these items), and be sure to familiarize yourself with the signs and dangers of a swollen battery.

Find the edge of the tablet, where the front panel meets the sides. Use the plastic opening tools to pry the panels apart.

Lift the face of the tablet.

Use the spudger tool to separate the battery from metal screen frame; there will be a small strip of double-sided tape holding it in place. A blue iFixit opening tool would also work for this purpose.

You will need to reattach these connection points when reassembling your device with the soldering iron. This guide will walk you through how to do that. Be sure to attach the positive and negative wires to the correct connections.

The battery is now disconnected and ready to be replaced.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
