Background

The Pioneer Steel Wheels Headphone, or SE-MJ71, was released in the middle of 2010 as part of a four-headphone series. These DJ-inspired headphones were also introduced in three other models: SE-MJ71-K, SE-MJ71-S, and SE-MJ71-G.

The Pioneer Steel Wheels Headphone have foldable hinges at the base of the headband for portability, as well as 40mm drivers, a 1.2m cord that connects to each ear cup, and a 3.5mm gold-plated plug.

Identification

On the side of each ear cup, the word "Pioneer" is engraved on each of the colored plates. On both sides of the headband, "SE-MJ71" is printed on the base of the headband. The Pioneer Steel Wheels will have chrome hinges above each left/right ear cup and will have colored plates on each ear cup that come in three aluminum finishes: black, silver, and gold.
