Marshall Woburn Troubleshooting
Background
The Marshall Woburn is a high-end Bluetooth speaker and is the first speaker in the Woburn line of speakers. Marshall is a British company that produces amplifiers, headphones, speakers, drums, and other music products.
Marshall’s first iteration of the Woburn speaker supports inputs from Bluetooth 4.0, RCA, optical, and 3.5mm auxiliary. These inputs can be swapped between using the source button. There are knobs for volume, treble and bass that give the user control of the two 5 1/4-inch woofers and two 1-inch dome tweeters.
The Woburn follows Marshall's vintage aesthetic that can be seen in their other products. The glossy black, vinyl shell and gold accents on the trim and top panel are made to echo the golden years of rock and roll. Even with its focus on a classic look, the Woburn doesn't give up anything in sound quality. It's able to cleanly handle treble and bass across its entire range.
The Marshall Woburn was released in 2014. It is currently not available to buy through Marshall’s website, but both of its improved versions, the Woburn II and Woburn III, are available for purchase. Both models feature improved power consumption and the ability to control sound through the Marshall app. Beyond these improvements, the Woburn III also features better sound quality with the addition of a three-way audio channel along with the addition of a new HDMI input.
Identification
This is a guide for the first model of the Marshall Woburn; there are at least 2 more models. The Marshall Woburn has a distinct faceplate with a cursive Marshall in the center. It is approximately 16” x 12” x 8” (400 mm x 308 mm x 200 mm) and 17.5 lbs (8 kg). The Woburn can be distinguished from its successor models by the “WOBURN” name printed on the top left of the control panel located on the top of the device. If “II” or “III” is printed after Woburn, then it is a later revision of the Woburn and not the model covered on this page.
