The Amazon Echo Show 10 3rd Gen is a home hub device intended for a wide variety of users and functions. Initially released in February of 2021 (and since discontinued), this device retails for around $249.99 for a new model and is sold and distributed by Amazon. Its major features and components include: an HD motion-tracking screen display for video calls, two speaker tweeters and one subwoofer, a 13 MP auto-framing camera, built-in Zigbee smart home hub compatibility, four microphone arrays, and built-in privacy controls, to name a few.

The Amazon Echo Show 10 3rd Gen was fairly well received, and was never issued any recalls during the few years since its release. Some common complaints from customers regarding the device, however, include a lack of significant improvement from past Echo Show versions, a white power cord given regardless of device color, a slow response speed when compared to past Echo Dots, clunky interface, and more. Many reviews came to the consensus that the motion tracking utilized for video calls was very inconsistent, and would often point in the wrong direction or would fail to follow the subject at all. In regard to praises, however, the Amazon Echo Show 10 3rd Gen has its fair share: better camera quality, a swiveling base, Amazon Sidewalk support, impressive screen resolution, good sound quality, and more.

Amazon has released a product line of Amazon Echo devices, which includes other model types such as Smart Speakers, Dots, Pops, Studios, Flexes, Echo Pluses, Inputs, Shows, Spots, Loops, and several more. Specifically, the Amazon Echo Show line is comprised of seven devices, with the Echo Show 15 being the latest model. The Echo Show 10 3rd Gen’s defining feature setting it apart from its predecessors, however, was its swiveling base and tracking camera. The Echo Show 10 replaced the previous model, the Echo Show 8 2nd Gen released in 2021 (the first generation of which was initially released in 2017). The most prominent feature missing between these two models is the aforementioned swiveling based. The Echo Show 8 2nd Gen’s display sits directly on tabletop surfaces, but still functions nearly identically to the model following it, the Echo Show 10 3rd Gen. in regard to user interface, applications, and overall software. The model that would replace the Echo Show 10 was the Echo Show 15 (released in September of 2021), a wall-mountable HD display mainly focusing on video rather than audio.

The Amazon Echo Show 10 3rd Gen has a larger build than the Echo Shows released in prior years, with a relatively large screen mounted on a cylindrical swiveling base lined with grille cloth. A small front facing camera is located on the top right edge of the display, alongside a front microphone located in the middle of the display’s top edge. Volume, power, and camera shutter buttons can be found on the top of the display’s edge; any other controls are found within the device’s user interface once powered on. The device's model number and information can be found on the bottom side of the base. The device comes in two colors, Glacier White and Charcoal, and can be positively identified by its barrel-shaped display-mounted base setting it apart from other Echo Show devices in Amazon’s catalogue.
