Although the 65XEM never made it to mass production, the 800XL and XE systems could be upgraded to Stereo sound, by adding a second POKEY chip to the mainboard. Then you could have 8 channels stereo sound (double as Amiga 4 channels... lol). Some newer games made use of this upgrade and had stereo sound-FX or music.
