The importance of Walking
Walking can add minutes to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5
months in a nursing home at $2000 per month.

My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old
and we don't know where he is.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people
who annoy me.
The only reason I would take up walking is so that I could hear
heavy breathing again.
I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain
figures out what I'm doing..

I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there.

Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise', I wash my mouth
out with chocolate.

The advantage of exercising every day is so when you die,
they'll say, 'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'

If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a
small country.
I know I got a lot of exercise the last few years ... just
getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older, because there's a lot more
information in our heads. That's
my story and I'm sticking to it.

find a Happy Hour and by the time I leave, I look just fine.

This week Allen Prunty, 1:2320/100, sent me a note about a
file he'd found online. It contained a number of my bbs
screens and menus which had essentially been done in Tag
BBS Menu Format. I'd designed these screens in 1992 for my
Maximus bbs system, and sent them to one of my great users
on <<Prism BBS at the time, Alan Holtclaw. I remember
hatching the file originally in Fidonet ages ago, but if
you need some great screens for your bbs, have at the file.
If you can't find it on your system, it's here in my
/mail directory (http://www.filegate.net/mail/)
Alan Holtclaw was QUITE the artist and boy did he do
amazing things with those menus :) Much much more than I
could have ever dreamed of, as a matter of fact.
Allen Prunty wondered if I still had the file on my system,
and I explained that yes I sure did. I used those menus
and screens originally for my Maximus bbs and later I also
used them for a while with BBBS/li (a number of those menus
are still in my bbbs/menus directory ). Maybe I'll get
them back online this year, they are really are neat menus.

Unlike most editors, I surely do not mind running my mouth
when there is a sparsity of articles for the 'zine. I'd
MUCH rather you sent in material... lacking that, I will
fill these issues with my meanderings and thoughts and
hopefully we will grow into something of consequence here
:)
Write an article!
If you WOULD like to submit an article, feel free to drop

If you are using routed Fidonet mail, don't send articles as routed
attaches. They will fail somewhere along the path before getting here.
Send them instead direct to filegate.net.
Give it a title, sign your name and network address if you have
one and send it along!
Don't worry about the format, I can take anything you send me
and mutilate it further as you can see above. Linux is nice
that way (g). Spell checking your own work will help though
(something I'm typically guilty of (g)).
