E D I T O R I A L

I just want to thank returning Sysop, Allen Runty for some of
the echos he's restarted in an attempt to bring back Fido "life"
in those areas.
The AMIGA message echo is a great example.. Even though some
folks from Z2 have been saying the echo was "hijacked" by Allen,
it's just -not- the case.
The echo was sitting on my system dead as a doornail from about
2008 - present. Over the last _8_ years, barely a post, and
generally someone would try to start topic only to see if fail..
Here's an example of some of the traffic in the AMIGA echo,

Now since Allen has rebooted the area, we can hope this echo
will return to some of it's usefulness. Best of luck with this
Allen!
I wish I still had mine.. it was sold when we decided to switch
our programming from DOS to a Unix-like OS on a Leading Edge HD
system (wow is that ages ago :) :)) We ran Mark Williams'
Coherent and did a lot of custom work for people using Coherent.
When our company, Invisible Light Software, made it to the eh..
big time (real money we could live on haha), the work we did on
the Amiga, the Leading Edge and various OS's and hardware
configurations allowed us to essentially deal with any customer
request.
I might take a look for an older AMIGA on ebay one of these days

Election in progress in the FN_SYSOP echo.
So far we have one candidate, Allen Prunty..
Interestingly the election coordinator spelled Allen's first
name wrong.. what will this mean for the results? It's
anyone's guess :)

Cooking: Even SysOps have to eat
Tuna Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients:
Tuna salad below
1 large beefsteak tomato, cut in 1/4-1/2" sections
8 large loose leaf style lettuce
For the Tuna:
12 oz. solid white tuna, packed in water
1/2 - 3/4 stick carrot, shredded with plane grater
1 small stck celery, sliced fine
salt, pepper to taste
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup mayonaisse
1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
Drain the canned tuna and put in a medium sized bowl. Break up
the tuna with a fork. Add the shredded carrot and celery.
Sprinkle the tuna with salt, pepper, olive oil and the apple
cider vinegar. Stir. Add mayonaisse, greek yogurt and sugar
(how much you add is up to you, I hardly use any).
You can cover this with plastic wrap and chill it, or you can
use it right away for your tuna wraps. Typically I can't wait :)
Place 12 large lettuce leaves on your work service. For each
piece of lettuce, place a slice of tomato on each side of one
piece of lettuce. Add about a tablespoon or so (heaping works
for me ) in the middle of the piece of lettuce.
Wrap from the stem end :)
If you have leftover "wraps", they will keep refriderated for a
day or so, wrapped tight, and wrapped in plastic wrap.

A psychologist was conducting a group therapy session with five
young mothers and their small children.
"You all have obsessions," he observed.
To the first mother, Mary, he said: "You are obsessed with
eating. You've even named your daughter Candy."
He turned to the second Mum, Ann: "Your obsession is with money.
It manifests itself in your children's names, Penny, Goldie and
Frank."
He turned to the third Mum, Joyce: "Your obsession is alcohol.
This too shows itself in your children's names: Brandy and
Sherry.
You even called the cat, "Whisky".
He then turned to the fourth Mum June: "Your obsession is with
flowers. Your girls are called Rose, Daphne & Poppy."
At this point, the fifth mother, Kathy, quietly got up, took her
little boy by the hand and whispered: "Come on, Dick, this guy
has no idea what he's talking about. Let's pick up Fanny and
Willy and go home."

MUCH rather you sent in material... lacking that, I will
fill these issues with my meanderings and thoughts and
hopefully we will grow into something of consequence here

and mutilate it further as you can see above. Linux is nice
that way (g). Spell checking your own work will help though
(something I'm typically guilty of (g)).
