The best book I have ever read is "Pride and Prejudice". It was written by Jane Austen, a famous writer who lived in England in the nineteenth century. This book shows that the first impression can often be misleading.
The plot of the novel takes place in an English province at the end of eighteenth century. Mr. and Mrs. Bennet have five unmarried daughters. Their property is not large. The main concern of Mrs. Bennet's life is to see that all her daughters are married, preferably to men with large fortunes. She sees an opportunity for her eldest daughter, Jane, when Mr. Bingley, a rich gentleman, rents a country estate near the Bennets called Netherfield Park. He is very kind and handsome man. He has a friend, Mr. Darcy, who is much more different than him. He looks down on the province residents. Elizabeth, Jane's younger sister, cannot stand his behavior. She immediately becomes prejudiced toward him.
In my opinion, this book is worth reading and gives us opportunity to learn a lot about eighteenth century landed gentry. It shows its customs and manners. Personally I think that "Pride and Prejudice" is one of the most important and beautiful romance books ever. Every love story fan should read it.
