Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish اویومق (uyumak, to sleep), from Proto-Turkic *ū-dï- (to sleep), derived from Proto-Turkic *ū (sleep) preserved in Yakut, Dolgan and Khalaj.[1] See Yakut уу (uu, sleep).
