tehaš

Karelian

Etymology

tehtä (to do, make) + -as. An alternative theory posits instead that tehtä and tehaš are parallel borrowings from Indo-European (see Proto-Uralic *teke-). Compare Finnish tehdas.

Noun

tehaš (genitive tehtahan, partitive tehašta)

  1. factory
  2. mill (factory)
