Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish تخمینا (taḫminā)[1][2] or تخمیناً (taḫminen, as an estimate, about),[3] from Arabic تَخْمِينًا (taḵmīnan) adverbial accusative of تَخْمِين (taḵmīn, guess, speculation), verbal noun of خَمَّنَ (ḵammana).[4]
