sunblind

English

Etymology

From sun + blind.

Noun

sunblind (plural sunblinds)

  1. A blind used to protect against the sun.
    • 1960 March, G. Freeman Allen, “Europe's most luxurious express - the "Settebello"”, in Trains Illustrated, page 142:
The view, of course, is wonderful - provided you are one of the lucky ones with a seat; a sunblind is draped over the tops of the windows, which are not very deep, so that standing occupants of the saloon have to bend double if they want to see anything more than the permanent way.
