sprindzeanã

Alternative forms
- suprãceanã
Etymology
From a Vulgar Latin root *supercenna, or *supergenna, formed from a confusion of Latin supercilia and gena (whence came Aromanian dzeanã), or from supercilia with influence from dzeanã in early Aromanian or Proto-Romanian, analogous to the original Latin deriving from super (“above”) + cilia (“eyelash”). Compare Spanish sobreceño. The Aromanian word (as well as the Daco-Romanian equivalent sprânceană) developed a nasal infix, similarly to Portuguese sobrancelha, Romansch survantscheglia.
