  1. (physics) Having or relating to the physical properties of solid materials, especially electromagnetic, thermodynamic or structural properties of crystalline solids.
  2. (electronics, of an electronic component) Based upon semiconductors, as distinct from older technologies such as vacuum tubes.
  3. (electrochemistry, of batteries) Using all solid construction; not using a wet membrane, gel, paste, liquid, gas or air, as the electrolyte or electrodes.
