soleie
Norwegian Nynorsk
Etymology
Proposed etymology is sol (“sun”) + auge (“eye”), although Ivar Aasen was not agree with it. According to some alternative views, the word can derivate from sol (“sun”) + leie (“flower”). [1] [2]
Noun
soleie f (definite singular soleia, indefinite plural soleier, definite plural soleiene)
- (botany) buttercup or any flower of the genus Ranunculus
- Synonym: smørblom
