Borrowed from Belarusian сулiць (sulicʹ, to promise), compare Russian сули́ть (sulítʹ) and Latvian solīt.

Verb

siū́lyti (third-person present tense siū́lo, third-person past tense siū́lė)

  1. (transitive, intransitive) to offer
    siūlyti pagalbąto offer assistance
    siūlyti sumokėtito offer to pay
  2. (transitive, intransitive) to propose, suggest
    siūlyti idėjąto propose an idea
    siūlyti eiti į teatrąto suggest to go to the theater
