  1. The combination of the Hebrew letter ו‎ (“vav”) with a dagesh which represents the vowel /u/.
    • 1996, Macy Nulman, The Encyclopedia of Jewish Prayer, page 192:
      Sephardim and the Lubavitch rite vocalize the second word of the refrain with a shuruk and thus it reads vehu.
