Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *skāpa, further related to Greek σκᾶπος (skâpos), σκῆπτρον (skêptron, “staff”), Latin scāpus (“shaft, stem”), Old High German skaft (“shaft, spear”).[1] Pisani and Cabej claim a borrowing from north western Doric Greek σκᾶπος (skâpos)[2]
