qualified majority (plural qualified majorities)
- (chiefly UK) A majority in a vote that reaches a preset threshold value significantly larger than 50%, such as 2⁄3, often required instead of a simple majority for reaching a decision; particularly on important matters, such as modifying the bylaws of an association.
