pitohui (plural pitohuis)

  1. A bird of the genus Pitohui in the family Oriolidae (formerly in Pachycephalidae), endemic to New Guinea, some of which have powerful batrachotoxins in skin and feathers.
  2. One of several poisonous birds of similar appearance, now taxonomically separated from Pitohui proper.
