nghang

Pacoh

Etymology

From Proto-Katuic *ʔŋhaaŋ, likely from Proto-Mon-Khmer *cʔaaŋ ~ *cʔaiŋ.

While the rime is conservative, the development of the onset of Proto-Katuic is not really clear, although probably involved both metathesis and debuccalization.

Pronunciation

  • IPA(key): [ʔəŋhaːŋ]

Noun

nghang
