Etymology
From a pre-Roman substrate of Iberia, possibly via a Vulgar Latin *anabionem or, considering its variants, *abanionem.[1] Ultimately related to Basque ahabia (“bilberry”), Spanish anavia (“blueberry”), Gascon anajon (“blueberry”) and Languedocien abajon.
