From German Muskat, from Old French noix muscat, from Medieval Latin muscata (“nutmeg”), from Ancient Greek μόσχος (móskhos, “musk”), from Middle Persian *mušk; ultimately from Sanskrit मुष्क (muṣka, “testicle”), the shape of the gland being similar.
