mobile home

mobile home (plural mobile homes)
- A prefabricated home built in a factory, rather than on site, and then taken to the place where it will be occupied.
- Synonyms: (US) doublewide, house trailer, trailer home, trailer, manufactured home
Usage notes
- This term contrasts with motor home, which is a vehicle meant to be a mobile, temporary residence, often for camping or vacationing. Mobile homes are generally moved to a permanent or semi-permanent location and then meant to be a long-term, fixed-location residence.
