lucfenyő
Hungarian
Etymology
luc + fenyő (fir), from earlier (currently obsolete) and dialectal lucs, lúcs, probably from Serbo-Croatian luč (“torch; fir”), referring to the fact that this fir was used to make torches. The current spelling is a result of misreading, since cz in lucz was also used in the 16–17th centuries to denote present-day cs, not only c.[1]
