Inherited from Sanskrit लता (latā). Cognate with Gandhari 𐨫𐨡 (lada), Niya Prakrit 𐨫𐨡 (lada), Maharastri Prakrit 𑀮𑀆 (laā), 𑀮𑀬𑀸 (layā), and Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀮𑀤𑀸 (ladā).
