Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *(a)lōu-m- (“(threshing-, malting-)floor”), with enlargement in -mo- or -mn/men-. Cognate to Ancient Greek ἅλως (hálōs, “(threshing-)floor”), Old Norse lófi (“(threshing-)floor”), Old High German lam (“lame”).[1]
