From Proto-Albanian *krok-sko, a -k enlargement of krah, from Proto-Indo-European *kr(o)k-sko (“arm”). Compare Lithuanian kárka (“pig's foot”), kirkãlis (“shinbone”), Bulgarian крак (krak, “leg, foot”), Serbo-Croatian krôk (“footstep”).
