Etymology

iso- + -gram. The "contour line" sense was proposed in 1889 by Francis Galton.[1]

  1. A word or phrase in which each letter occurs the same number of times.
  2. A line on a map or chart, such as a contour line, joining points that have the same value for some quantity.
