From Proto-Albanian *ǵákə, from earlier Proto-Albanian *źak-, from Proto-Indo-European *sokʷos (sap, resin). Compare Lithuanian sakaĩ (resin), Ancient Greek ὀπός (opós, sap), Proto-Slavic *sokъ (juice).[1]
