Borrowed from Greek ντουζίνα (ntouzína), from Neapolitan duzzina (“dozen”), either from Occitan dotzena or French douzaine (or the corresponding ancestor languages), ultimately from Vulgar Latin *dōdeci and Latin duodecim.
