dünyəvi
Azerbaijani
Etymology
From Arabic دُنْيَوِيّ (dunyawiyy). By surface analysis, dünya (“world”) + -vi.
The shift from the sense mundane to secular is probably resulting from a semantic loan from Russian светский (svetskij).
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): [dynjæːˈvi]
Audio (file) - Hyphenation: dün‧yə‧vi
