Etymology

Cf. Old Italian caduno, catuno, from Vulgar Latin *catūnum, from Latin cata (< Ancient Greek κατά (katá)) + unum. The form cadauno may be through the intermediate of Old Spanish cada uno.[1] Compare Occitan cadun, Catalan cadascun; cf. French chacun. See also ciascuno.
