From Proto-Albanian *blōr-, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰloh₁-ro-, from the root *bʰleh₁- (“blue, green, yellow”). Cognate to Latin flōrus (“golden yellow, reddish-yellow”)[1] and Proto-Germanic *blēwaz (“blue, dark”). Possibly borrowed from Proto-Celtic *blaros (“gray”),[2] compare blár
