Borrowed from English bismuth, from German Wismuth, from Middle High German wismāt, from Latin bisemūtum, from Arabic بِسِيمُوتِيُّون (bisīmūtiyyūn), from Ancient Greek ψιμύθιον (psimúthion, “white lead”).
