Etymology
Unknown. Huehnergard explains it as a derivation from Proto-Semitic *bV- (“in”) and Proto-Semitic *šuʔa (“it”), comparing it to colloquial Arabic فيه (fī, “there is/are”, literally “in it”) and Ge'ez ቦ (bo, “there is/are”, literally “in it”).
