Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish عیاش (ʿayyaş, fond of good living and merriment, a toper, sot),[1] from Arabic عَيَّاشْ (ʕayyāš, one who lives in prosperity), from عَاشَ (ʕāša, to live, to be alive).[2]
