Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish عيناً (ʿaynen, “by eye, by sight, exactly, without difference”),[1][2] from Arabic عَيْنًا (ʕaynan), adverbial accusative of عَيْن (ʕayn, “eye”).[3] By surface analysis, aynı (“same”) +‎ -en. Compare Azerbaijani eynən (“exactly”) and Uzbek aynan (“exactly”).
