Zonnemaire
Dutch
Etymology
First attested as sunnemere in 985. Derived from an ancient hydronym, which in turn appears to derive from a hydronym cognate to Old Dutch zwin (“creek”) and Old Dutch meri (“lake, watercourse”). Compare Sommelsdijk and Son.
