From older Terrana (in Latin sources), from Proto-Albanian *Tūrsanā, either reflecting or possibly from Doric Greek Τυρσανοί (Tursanoí)/Τυρσανοί (Tursanoí), an epithet used to denote the inhabitants of the Tyrrhenian Sea (cf. Latin Mare Tyrrhēnum). see toskë, another ethnonym derived from Etruscans.
