Proto-Uralic
Notes
Often reconstructed, on the basis of the Sami and Mordvinic evidence, as *oda-. Aikio (2013) has argued that the reconstruction *ade- better accounts for the Ugric descendants, and that a regular sound change *a-e > *o-a has taken place in the former two.
Derived terms
- *adema (“sleep, dream”)
