Proto-Tocharian
Etymology
Uncertain. Possibly from Proto-Indo-European *bʰel- (“to speak, yell, bark, roar, sound”) (whence English bellow), or alternatively it may be linked to Proto-Indo-European *(s)pel- (“to say aloud, recite”) (compare Albanian fjalë, English spell, Armenian առասպել (aṙaspel)).
