Etymology
Equivalent to *loviti (“to hunt”) + *-ъ. From Proto-Indo-European *leh₂w- (“to capture, enjoy”). Akin to Proto-Germanic *launą (“award”), whence German Lohn and from there Slovene lọ̑n (“payment”).
