Proto-Norse
Etymology
From Proto-Germanic *raginą (“advice, decision”).
Usage notes
- This word is only attested in a compound. Although ᚱᚨᚷᛁᚾᚨ should be the nominative singular form, the Old Norse descendant is only used in the plural. Thus, it is possible that this was the case for this word as well, but this can not be said for certain.
Derived terms
- ᚱᚨᚷᛁᚾᚨᚲᚢᛞᛟ (raginakudo, “born of the gods”) (feminine accusative singular)
Descendants
- Old Norse: regin
